Lusaka–Livingstone Set for Dual Carriageway Under HH

President Hakainde Hichilema has pledged to construct a dual carriageway linking Lusaka and Livingstone if he secures another term in office, describing the project as a key investment aimed at improving transport and boosting economic growth.

Speaking during a community engagement in Mazabuka, President Hichilema said the proposed road would ease traffic congestion, enhance connectivity between the country's two major centres, and support trade and tourism.

He pointed to the ongoing Lusaka–Ndola Dual Carriageway as evidence of his government's commitment to delivering major infrastructure projects efficiently and at a competitive cost.

The President also announced plans to upgrade Mazabuka District Hospital into a fully-fledged general hospital with modern medical facilities, saying the move would improve access to quality healthcare for residents.

In addition, he pledged to establish a skills training centre in Mazabuka to equip young people with practical skills aligned with the demands of the labour market, helping to create employment opportunities.
