Chief Chama Endorses HH, Applauds Peace and Development
Chief Chama of the Chishinga people in Kawambwa District has endorsed President Hakainde Hichilema's candidature in the August 13 General Elections.
The traditional leader says President Hichilema has demonstrated his commitment to national development through projects implemented since taking office.
Speaking when Vice President Mutale Nalumango paid a courtesy call on him, Chief Chama said giving the President another mandate would ensure continued development across the country.
He said government programmes have improved the lives of many Zambians.
Chief Chama also commended the government for maintaining peace during the election period, describing the current campaign environment as one of the most peaceful in recent history.
He urged citizens to continue safeguarding the peace before, during and after the elections.
Vice President Nalumango thanked the Chief for recognising the government's development efforts and assured him that the administration would continue implementing programmes aimed at improving people's lives.
Meanwhile, Kawambwa Pastors Fellowship Chairperson Darius Kabwe praised the government's pro-poor policies, including the Free Education Policy and the Social Cash Transfer Programme.
Pastor Kabwe said the church will continue praying for the country's leaders and promoting peace as Zambia heads to the polls.
The Vice President also called on the clergy to continue praying for the nation and its leadership.
