HH Pushes For Stronger Zambia-US Economic Cooperation
Today, the President underscored the importance of a long-standing US-Zambia partnership. President Hichilema said this when the newly appointed US Chargé d’Affaires, Mich Coker and his delegation paid a courtesy call on him at the State House.
He wishes to utilise the historic partnership between the US and Zambia to “deepen cooperation” in the private sector for trade purposes.
The bilateral relationship can be used to share technology and broadly increase mutual business opportunities and jobs, the President added.
President Hichilema said it is now the right time to have American and Zambian business working together through strategic cooperation for increased investment.
And Mr Coker, US Chargé d’Affaires said the relations between Zambia and the United States are strong and built on shared values, mutual interests and enduring people-to-people ties. Mr Coker reinforced that that the long-standing Zambia-US partnership despite changes in political leadership has remained resilient.
The President encouraged continued economic collaboration between Zambia and the US to deliver meaningful trade and social benefits for both countries.
