Access to Sanitary Towels is Raising Girls’ School Attendance
Education authorities in Luanshya said the sanitary towel distribution has supported consistent school attendance among girls.
Officials add many young girls are able to remain in class during their menstrual periods which has improved girls’ school participation and continued learning.
The initiative is part of a wider programme to improve access to education and create a more inclusive learning environment for girls.
Education authorities add that the school attendance rates have increased in Luanshya as a result of the sanitary towel distribution system. This change is expected to contribute to better academic performance and better long-term learning outcomes among female learners.
The authorities have highlighted the programme as an effective response to barriers affecting girls’ school attendance.
