President Edgar Lungu yesterday left for a private visit to Kenya at the invitation of his counterpart Uhuru Kenyatta. According to his Special Assistant for Press and Private relations Amos Chanda, the president is expected to be back over the weekend.

Meanwhile, Mr Amos Chanda told journalists at the Airport that the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) has not submitted its report to the office of the President and that the President only heard of the report on Social media. Mr Chanda said that the 2017 Trends Report was instead rendered to civil society and member of the general public.

“No such reports have been given to him by the Auditor General’s office, Zambia Revenue Authority, or any law enforcement agencies,” Chanda said. “…the FIC Report was not even given to the supervising ministry, Ministry of Finance.”
