Southern Province Permanent Secretary Dr Namani Monze Laid to Rest

Southern Province Permanent Secretary Dr Namani Monze has been laid to rest at his farm in Choma District, with senior government officials, traditional leaders and hundreds of mourners gathering to pay their final respects.

The funeral was attended by First Lady Mutinta Hichilema, while President Hakainde Hichilema was represented by Secretary to the Cabinet Patrick Kangwa. In a message delivered on the President's behalf, Dr Monze was remembered for his professionalism, diligence and dedicated service to Zambia throughout his career. The President also extended his condolences to Dr Monze's widow, Namwiinga Monze, his children and the wider bereaved family.

Senior Chief Hamusonde described Dr Monze as a humble and approachable public servant whose commitment to duty earned the respect of those he served, whilst thanking President Hichilema and the First Lady for honouring him with a dignified farewell.

Family members paid tribute to Dr Monze's devotion both at home and in public life. Speaking on behalf of the family, relatives described him as a loving husband, devoted father and committed Christian whose integrity, kindness and leadership left a lasting impact on those around him.

Dr Monze is survived by his wife and four children.
