Government Boosts Food Security for 1,000 Chilanga Families

Around 1,000 vulnerable households in Chilanga District are set to benefit from the Government's Food Security Pack (FSP) Wetlands Programme as part of efforts to strengthen food production and improve household livelihoods.

Luanshya Paul Malele said the FSP is a government initiative under the Ministry of Community Developmemnt and Social Services designed to reduce poverty and improve food security among vulnerable but viable households.

The initiative, implemented through the Ministry of Community Development, is designed to enhance food security while increasing agricultural productivity among vulnerable communities.

Speaking during the launch of the distribution of farming inputs for the 2026/2027 agricultural season, Chilanga Acting District Commissioner Maureen Chilende reaffirmed the Government's commitment to improving the social and economic welfare of vulnerable families.

Ms Chilende said the programme reflects the Government's continued efforts to support sustainable farming and build the resilience of households through increased agricultural production.
