Chingola's CDF Funds Reach Schools and Churches
Chingola Municipal Council has commissioned a series of CDF-funded infrastructure projects across the district, bringing solar power to two churches and a school, and new classroom space to a primary school that had long been struggling with overcrowding.
North Mine Baptist Church and Pentecostal Holiness Church have both received solar power systems under the 2026 Nchanga Constituency Development Fund, with the installations expected to support worship activities, improve security and provide more reliable energy for community engagement.
King's Trust School, which has a learner population of over 1,500, has also been fitted with a solar power system under the same fund - providing a stable energy supply to support teaching and learning activities.
Meanwhile, a new two-classroom block has been commissioned at Twali Primary School, constructed under the 2025 Nchanga CDF at a cost of just under K1 million. The project was officially commissioned by Copperbelt Province Permanent Secretary Lawrence Mwanza, represented at the event by Chingola District Commissioner Howard Kamwandi.
The projects form part of a wider national push to channel CDF resources into visible, community-level infrastructure - from classrooms and health posts to energy and water access.
