Kenyan President Ruto Arrives for HH Inauguration

Kenyan President William Ruto has arrived in Zambia to attend the inauguration of President-elect Hakainde Hichilema, which takes place today at the National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.

President Ruto touched down at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport at 08:40 hours, where he was received by the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development Permanent Secretary for Technical Services, Nicholas Phiri.

His arrival signals the strong ties between Zambia and Kenya, and adds to the list of regional leaders and dignitaries gathering in Lusaka to witness President Hichilema's swearing-in for his second term.

President Hichilema, who was re-elected in the August 13 General Elections, is expected to take the oath of office before a crowd of thousands, alongside visiting Heads of State and special envoys from across the continent and beyond.
