Ballot Papers Securely Delivered to Solwezi

Ballot papers for the August 2026 General Elections have arrived safely in Solwezi District, North-Western Province, under tight security.

Officials from the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ), political party representatives and election observers witnessed the delivery of the ballot papers at the designated secure storage facility.

Solwezi District Electoral Officer Stanley Mbewe confirmed that all ballot papers and election materials had been received without incident.

Addressing political party representatives and election observers, Mr Mbewe said the ballot papers would remain in secure custody until 10 August, when the verification exercise will be carried out in the presence of accredited stakeholders.

UPND representative Amos Mpenge welcomed the transparent handling of the delivery process, while National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity (NRPUP) election observer Mboo Isitexeto commended the ECZ for maintaining openness and accountability throughout the receipt of the ballot papers.
