HH: Eastern Province Will Get Its Fair Share of the National Cake

President Hakainde Hichilema today continued his campaign tour of Eastern Province, starting in Kasenengwa before proceeding to Chipangali and concluding in Mambwe District.

In Kasenengwa, President Hichilema thanked residents for attending the rally and reaffirmed government's commitment to development through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF). He said increased CDF allocations were helping address feeder roads, water challenges, dams and other community projects. The President also described free education as "a game changer" and urged residents to support the UPND in the August elections, saying, "Kasenengwa must keep moving forward together with us."

In Chipangali, the President assured residents that the district would continue receiving its fair share of development, declaring: "The journey we started together in 2021 will see this beautiful land continue having its fair share of the national cake." He said government would continue investing in agriculture, roads, health facilities, schools, business opportunities, social cash transfers, Cash for Work programmes and job creation. He acknowledged progress made in some sectors while pledging that more development was on the way.

In Mambwe District, President Hichilema pledged to establish a skills development centre, a college and a university, upgrade the Chipata–Mfuwe Road, construct key bridges, improve mobile network coverage and strengthen measures to address human-wildlife conflict. He concluded by encouraging citizens to vote in the 13 August 2026 General Election.
