Botswana's President Boko Congratulates President Hichilema on Re-election

Botswana's President, His Excellency Advocate Duma Gideon Boko, has congratulated President Hakainde Hichilema on his re-election, saying his country joins the people of Zambia in celebrating this important milestone.

In his message, President Boko described the outcome as a significant moment for Zambia's democracy and a reflection of the trust the Zambian people have placed in President Hichilema's leadership.

He noted that Zambia and Botswana enjoy deep historical ties, rooted in shared values and a common commitment to peace, democracy and regional integration. These bonds, he said, have long united the two nations and continue to guide their partnership across a range of areas.

President Boko expressed confidence that bilateral relations between Lusaka and Gaborone would continue to deepen under President Hichilema's leadership, to the mutual benefit of the people of both countries. He reaffirmed Botswana's readiness to work closely with Zambia in advancing shared priorities and strengthening cooperation across the region.

The message from Gaborone adds to a growing list of congratulations President Hichilema has received from heads of state across the continent and beyond, reflecting broad regional and international confidence in Zambia's democratic process and its development trajectory.

Zambia and Botswana have maintained warm and cooperative relations over the years, working together within regional bodies such as the Southern African Development Community to promote peace, stability and economic integration across the region.
