United States Embassy Congratulates President Hichilema on Re-Election
The United States Embassy in Zambia has congratulated President Hakainde Hichilema on his re-election, reaffirming the long-standing partnership between the two nations.
In a statement issued today, The Embassy noted that for 62 years the United States and Zambia had built "a strong and enduring partnership." The Embassy said it looked forward to continuing its work with President Hichilema's administration and the Zambian people to advance shared economic prosperity, regional peace and security, and global health.
The message adds the United States to a growing list of international partners and observers who have recognised the outcome of the 2026 General Election.
The gesture underlines the continued warmth of relations between Lusaka and Washington, and signals Washington's intention to deepen cooperation with Zambia across trade, security and development over the course of the President's second term.
