CCMG: 97% of Reporting Polling Stations Were Opened by 7am

The Christian Churches Monitoring Group (CCMG) have been granted acccess at 99% of reporting polling stations across Zambia.

They reported that by 7:00 97% of polling stations were open and voting was already underway, based on reports from 1,339 of 1,500 CCMG monitors by 9:00am.

CCMG said that "today, our monitors are on the ground documenting the process and keeping #eyesontheballot."

With 8,768,300 registered voters and 13,529 polling stations across the country, CCMG monitors remain on the ground throughout polling day, documenting the process as voters cast their ballots in what has so far been a peaceful and orderly election.
