HH’s Southern Province agenda: More jobs, stronger tourism and improved infrastructure

President Hakainde Hichilema has concluded his tour of Southern Province outlining his vision for continued development ahead of the August 2026 General Election.

In Kalomo, the President said his administration remained committed to delivering more jobs, increased agriculture support, improved road infrastructure and expanded economic opportunities.

In Kazungula, President Hichilema stressed that development must reach all parts of Zambia, highlighting increased Constituency Development Fund (CDF), free education, job creation initiatives and infrastructure projects as key achievements of his administration.

He said areas such as Kazungula would continue receiving their fair share of national development through projects aimed at improving communities and boosting local economies.

The President’s message in Livingstone centred on transforming Zambia’s tourism capital into a 24-hour tourism and business hub.

He said more infrastructure investment, improved roads and enhanced security lighting would help grow tourism, create jobs and unlock more opportunities for businesses.

President Hichilema also announced plans to expand access to higher education through the establishment of a public university in Southern Province, while pledging continued investment in health and education services.

Tomorrow the President will travel to Central Province where he will rally supporters ahead of the August 13 election.
