Ballot Papers to Arrive in Zambia This Week, ECZ Confirms
The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has assured stakeholders and the public that all ballot papers for the 2026 General Election will be delivered into the country this week, despite adjustments to the transportation schedule.
In a public notice issued on 27th July 2026, the Commission provided an updated timeline for the transportation and arrival of the ballot papers. It recalled that, a day earlier on 26th July, it had indicated that the first two consignments were scheduled to arrive in Lusaka on Tuesday, 28th July. However, the Commission advised that further adjustments have since been made to the flight schedule.
Notwithstanding the changes, the ECZ moved to reassure the nation that the timeline for delivery remains firmly on track. "The Commission would like to assure all the stakeholders that all ballot papers will be delivered in Zambia this week," the notice stated.
The Commission added that it would issue a further update on 28th July, setting out the revised flight schedule and advising stakeholders of the exact day and time of arrival of the ballot papers.
The ECZ also took the opportunity to acknowledge and commend the collaboration of stakeholders, praising their partnership and diligent monitoring during the critical final phases of ballot paper packaging and transportation.
