Junior Chipolopolo Hold Brazil To Secure Round of 32 Spot

Zambia delivered a strong performance in the U-17 World Cup yesterday afternoon, drawing 1-1 with four-time winners Brazil. The Junior Chipolopolo will advance to the round of 32 after finishing second in their group, narrowly missing the top spot on goal difference.

Jonathan Kalimina put Zambia ahead in the 26th minute with an audacious goal struck directly from a corner. The South Americans equalized in the 81st minute through Dell, who nodded home from Ângelo's cross.

Zambia head coach Dennis Makina praised his team's resilience: "Great character from the boys. I give them credit for the hard work—they fought like I've never seen before. A lapse of concentration for a few minutes and we conceded that equalizer."

Zambia will now face Canada in the round of 32, with the match scheduled for November 14-15. The exact kick-off time and date are yet to be confirmed.
