Hichilema Chairs First Cabinet Meeting of Renewed Mandate

President Hakainde Hichilema yesterday afternoon chaired the first Cabinet meeting of his renewed mandate, signalling a renewed push by his administration to accelerate the implementation of its economic agenda.

The meeting came shortly after the President announced his first ministerial appointments under the new mandate, setting the stage for his Cabinet to begin work on the priorities outlined by the government.

Addressing Cabinet, Hichilema reiterated the need for ministers to take the lead in delivering the Grow Zambia Agenda, with a particular focus on creating jobs, increasing revenue for the Treasury and expanding business opportunities across the country.

The President said the renewed mandate should be matched by renewed urgency and a stronger commitment to turning Zambia’s economic growth into tangible improvements in the lives of ordinary citizens.

He stressed that the government’s economic gains must translate into opportunities and benefits reaching communities in all parts of the country.
