Livingstone Councillors Pledge Continued Development Under Re-Elected President Hichilema

Councillors in Livingstone District have welcomed the re-election of President Hakainde Hichilema, saying his return to office will allow development in the district to continue without interruption.

Mosi-Oa-Tunya Ward Councillor-elect Isaac Mukwati told ZNBC News that delivering projects in his ward had become far easier during his previous term, pointing to the enhanced Constituency Development Fund as a key driver of local progress.

Mr Mukwati said the increased CDF allocation, combined with Livingstone's new status as a two-constituency district, would open up even greater opportunities for development across the tourist capital.

Namatama Ward Councillor-elect Kelvin Maambo thanked residents for voting for him and for President Hichilema, saying the result reflected public confidence in the direction the district has taken.

Mr Maambo said his immediate priority would be to complete outstanding projects under the CDF before embarking on new ones, ensuring communities see through the full benefit of funds already committed.
