ECZ Confirms Readiness as Presidential Nominations Open

The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) have announced that they are ready for Presidential nominations beginning today, May 18.

ECZ Corporate Affairs Manager Patricia Luhanga said preparations have advanced, they are currently working on officially registering and approving stakeholders who will be allowed into the nomination centre. This accreditation process uses local monitors, international observers, members of the media and political party officials.

Ms. Luhanga affirms the importance of this process saying “accreditation is their passport to get into the centre”

Members of the media are also undergoing accreditation for the Presidential nominations.

With preparations intensifying and accreditation underway, all eyes are now on the Presidential Nomination Centre as Zambia’s 2026 election journey officially gets into motion.
