Hichilema Urges Nation to "Deliver Zambia's Harvest Together" After Securing UPND Presidential Mandate
President Hakainde Hichilema has called on Zambians to unite behind a shared mission of national prosperity after being confirmed as the UPND's presidential candidate for the August 13 general election.
Speaking at the party's General Assembly, where he was granted a fresh mandate to lead the UPND, President Hichilema struck a tone of both reflection and resolve, acknowledging the progress of the past five years while making clear that the work is far from finished.
At the heart of his acceptance address was a call to action built around the campaign's defining message. "Let's deliver Zambia's harvest together," he declared, an appeal that positions the coming election as the moment to convert five years of groundwork into tangible, lasting gains for ordinary Zambians.
The President said his administration remained committed to building durable prosperity, driven by what he described as a genuine love for the country.
With campaigning set to intensify in the months ahead, the UPND goes into the election with its incumbent President reconfirmed and a clear sense of purpose heading into August.
