Chitimukulu Praises Government's Swift Flood Response

Paramount Chief Chitimukulu has commended the government for its swift response in assisting citizens affected by floods and other natural disasters across the country, describing the intervention as a welcome sign of leadership in action.

The traditional leader said it was encouraging to see government taking decisive steps to restore order and provide meaningful support to displaced persons and vulnerable communities. However, he also called on authorities to go beyond immediate relief, urging them to develop lasting solutions that prevent communities from being uprooted by flooding year after year.

Chitimukulu was speaking when Vice President Mutale Nalumango paid a courtesy call on him at his residence on Wednesday afternoon.

Mrs Nalumango used the visit to express gratitude to the paramount chief for his steady leadership and offered her personal condolences following the recent passing of his wife. She assured him that her office would work to ensure affected families across the region receive the necessary relief support in a timely manner.

The Vice President also took the opportunity to appeal to traditional leaders to use their influence to promote peace and national unity as Zambia prepares for the August general elections, urging chiefs to remain voices of calm and stability in their communities.
