President Hichilema Welcomes Malawi's New President

President Hakainde Hichilema has congratulated Malawi's newly elected leadership, praising the peaceful democratic transition.

In an official statement, President Hichilema congratulated Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika on his election as President-Elect and Justice Dr. Jane Mayemu Ansah, SC JA (Retired), as Vice President-Elect.

"We wish to convey our heartfelt congratulations to Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika and Justice Dr. Jane Mayemu Ansah, SC JA (Retired), on their election as President-Elect and Vice President-Elect of the Republic of Malawi, respectively," President Hichilema stated.

He also commended outgoing President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera. "We also extend our commendation to the outgoing President, Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and his team for a true demonstration of statesmanship and respect for democratic values," he said.

President Hichilema praised the Malawian people for their peaceful conduct during elections. "Above all, we salute the people of Malawi for exercising their democratic right peacefully, setting a shining example for the region and the continent," he noted.

The Zambian leader concluded: "May God bless the Republic of Malawi and may He bless Africa."
