Zambia's Voter Registration Gets Final Three-Day Extension to November 29

The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has extended the mass voter registration exercise for another three days, from Thursday, November 27, 2025 to Saturday, November 29, 2025.

The ECZ originally announced a 15-day extension to the ongoing voter registration exercise on November 11. Originally scheduled to conclude on November 26, 2025, it has now been postponed again.

The new extension was announced at a press conference on Wednesday evening by ECZ Chairperson Mrs. Mwangala Zaloumis SC, who addressed the media at the ECZ Head Office. She cited "the decision has been made in response to the overwhelming demand by eligible voters in registration centers across the country at the close of today."

Mrs. Zaloumis emphasized that the commission remains committed to ensuring every eligible voter has the opportunity to register and participate in the 2026 General Election, but stressed that the deadline will not be extended again.

As of yesterday, 1,028,503 new voters have been registered across Zambia.
