President Hichilema Establishes Drivers' Desk at State House

President Hakainde Hichilema has established a Drivers' Desk at State House to address issues affecting drivers countrywide.

The Head of State said an advisory team will coordinate the desk in collaboration with a technical committee made up of selected drivers to get first-hand information.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, President Hichilema said the creation of the Drivers' Desk fulfills a commitment he made to drivers while in opposition.

"Drivers matter to us as they are critical to moving our economy. It is for this reason that we have created a special desk for drivers at State House to tackle matters that affect them," he stated.

President Hichilema said his advisory team will work with the technical committee comprising selected drivers to ensure direct engagement with these stakeholders.

"This is in line with a commitment we made to the drivers of our country before we formed government. Let us continue our drive to grow our economy in an inclusive and collaborative manner," he added.

The Drivers' Desk is expected to serve as a direct channel for addressing challenges facing the transport sector and ensuring drivers' concerns reach the highest level of government.
