President Calls for Unity and Order in Chingola

President Hakainde Hichilema has urged residents of Chingola to reflect on recent incidents and collaborate with government to maintain peace and order across the nation.

Speaking at a Copperbelt UPND engagement held at Kitwe Cricket Club grounds, President Hichilema emphasised that Zambia cannot afford to return to an era characterised by violence and disorder. He specifically warned against the growing culture of lawlessness in Chingola, calling on citizens to embrace peaceful dialogue instead.

The President reminded attendees that despite facing numerous injustices during their time in opposition, the UPND deliberately chose not to retaliate, demonstrating their commitment to democratic principles and national stability.

President Hichilema expressed gratitude to Kitwe residents for their electoral support, noting that their votes enabled the party to deliver tangible development across multiple sectors. He encouraged citizens to register as voters and obtain National Registration Cards ahead of next year's general election, while urging party members to intensify recruitment efforts to secure a stronger mandate.

Addressing concerns about power outages, the President assured citizens that government is working diligently to resolve the load-shedding crisis.

Members of Parliament from Ndola Central, Chingola, and Nchanga expressed concern over youth behavior in Chingola, while UPND Copperbelt Youth Chairperson Wellen Hinyama pledged to address issues involving unruly youths in the district.
