President Hichilema Meets King Charles at Scottish Estate

President Hakainde Hichilema has revealed he enjoyed a royal audience with King Charles III this morning.

Writing to his "Fellow Citizens," the President described his visit to Dumfries House, the King's private residence in Glasgow, where the two leaders bonded over their shared commitment to protecting the environment.

"Our discussions focused on areas of mutual interest," President Hichilema explained, highlighting sustainable natural resource management as a key topic, something close to His Majesty's heart, guided by the principle of "humans living in harmony with nature."

But this wasn't just a social call. The President made clear he's on a mission to secure real benefits for Zambians back home.

"Zambia remains committed to strengthening partnerships with countries like the UK," he said, emphasising the importance of attracting financing for development projects that will create jobs and opportunities for the nation.

President Hichilema expressed his gratitude for the King's "warm welcome, invitation, and gracious hospitality" before heading to London for the next leg of his UK tour.

The message from Scotland was clear: President Hichilema is working the rooms of power to "bring tangible benefits to every Zambian."
