The National Pension Scheme Authority (NAPSA) has disbursed over 9.1 million kwacha in interest-free advance pension payments to 565 pensioners within three days of launching the facility on August 8, 2026.

NAPSA says the payments are part of Zambia’s recent pension reforms and are aimed at helping pensioners meet pressing financial obligations without taking on additional debt.

The highest payment so far is K17,454.37, while the lowest is K2,000, with the average payment standing at K16,178.37.

NAPSA Director General Muyangwa Muyangwa has commended President Hakainde Hichilema for championing the pension reforms and thanked Government and the Board of Trustees for supporting their implementation.
