Govt Equips 75,000 Farmers in Climate‑Smart Training
The Government, through the Ministry of Agriculture and with support from the Zambia Growth Opportunities Programme (ZamGROW), has launched an extensive climate-smart agriculture training initiative across all 11 districts of Central Province.
Central Province Permanent Secretary, Dr Milner Mwanakampwe, said the programme is expected to reach 75,000 farmers this year, equipping them with modern agricultural practices designed to improve resilience to climate change and boost productivity.
Dr Mwanakampwe announced the target while officiating at the Central Province Agricultural and Commercial Show, which was recently held in Kabwe.
Speaking at the same event, Show Society Chairperson Tabonga Musukwa highlighted Central Province's significant contribution to the national economy, describing it as one of Zambia's principal agricultural regions and a major producer of quality seed.
