Over 11,000 Youths Trained as Ndola's CDF Impact Grows

More than 11,000 young people in Ndola have gained vocational skills through Constituency Development Fund bursaries since 2022, as the city continues to channel CDF resources into both education and infrastructure.

Ndola City Council Public Relations Manager Rebecca Mushota said 11,191 youths benefited from skills development bursaries between 2022 and 2025, training in fields ranging from heavy equipment operation and driving to metal fabrication, food production and tailoring.

Beyond skills training, 290 pupils accessed secondary boarding school bursaries during the same period, while around 1,700 groups received empowerment grants and 681 groups and individuals accessed empowerment loans.

On infrastructure, Mushota said more than 200 community projects have been implemented across the city under the CDF. Education and road rehabilitation led the way, with 46 projects each completed since 2022. The health sector gained 29 facilities, including health centres and maternity wings, while 23 markets and market-related facilities were also delivered. A further 18 police posts and facilities, 16 water and sanitation projects, a Magistrates' Court annex and a new bus station round out the list.

Mushota said the council continues to work closely with various stakeholders to implement and supervise the projects, with the scale of activity reflecting the growing role CDF resources are playing in shaping everyday life across the city.
