New Roads Ease Congestion in Ndola and Kapiri Mposhi

The Road Development Agency (RDA) says the completion of works on the Masangano-Fisenge-Luanshya Road and the Kapiri Mposhi Bypass has eased traffic congestion in Ndola and Kapiri Mposhi.

RDA Copperbelt Roads Engineer Bernard Zulu said the Masangano-Fisenge-Luanshya Road had been opened to traffic, creating an opportunity for contractors to accelerate works on Lot 3 of the Lusaka-Ndola Dual Carriageway project.

Speaking during a media tour of the project, Mr Zulu said the road was substantially complete, with the remaining works involving the construction of drainage infrastructure and the installation of road signs.

He said opening the road to motorists had improved traffic flow in the area while allowing construction activities on the dual carriageway to progress more efficiently.

Mr Zulu added that the completion of the Kapiri Mposhi Bypass had also helped reduce congestion within the town by diverting through traffic away from the central business district.
