Civil Servants Praised for Driving National Progress
The Government has credited public service workers for playing a vital role in the country's achievements over the past five years, saying their dedication and commitment have been key to maintaining national progress.
Secretary to the Cabinet Patrick Kangwa said the milestones recorded during the period would not have been possible without the hard work of civil servants across the country.
Speaking during a church service for public service workers in Lusaka, Mr Kangwa acknowledged that Zambia had faced a number of challenges and crises. However, he said public servants remained steadfast in their duties, helping to keep the economy on course despite difficult circumstances.
He urged civil servants to continue strengthening institutional capacity, improving coordination mechanisms and promoting a results-driven culture that responds effectively to the needs of citizens.
Mr Kangwa said these efforts would contribute significantly towards achieving universal access to clean water and safe sanitation, in line with the aspirations of the African Union.
Meanwhile, Ministry of Defence Chaplain General Brigadier General Henry Matifeyo stressed the importance of spiritual values in the workplace, saying an individual's spiritual outlook influences how they interact with colleagues and the wider community.
Dr Matifeyo said every employee has an important role to play, adding that no worker is more valuable than another. He emphasised that teamwork remains essential in delivering positive results and achieving organisational goals.
