President Hichilema Visits Kabulonga Boys, Reaffirms Commitment to School Feeding Programme

President Hakainde Hichilema today visited a local school participating in Zambia’s School Feeding Programme, reaffirming the government’s commitment to improving educational outcomes and child welfare across the country.

The President arrived this morning and began the visit by touring classrooms and the school kitchen, interacting warmly with students and teachers. During their meal break, he took the time to serve each child, sharing smiles and words of support and underscoring the importance of proper nutrition for their education and development.

Speaking to staff and community members, President Hichilema said the School Feeding Programme is not merely about providing meals, but about ensuring children stay in school, concentrate in class, and build a healthier future. “When we feed a child, we are feeding the future of Zambia,” he said.

The programme, which has expanded in recent years, particularly benefits vulnerable and rural communities where many families struggle to provide consistent meals. School authorities reported improved attendance and increased learner participation since the introduction of daily meals.

Today’s visit to Kabulonga Boys Secondary School reflects President Hichilema’s dedication to improving school life in Zambia. Hichilema assured that Zambia will continue working with its cooperating partners to enhance the programme's sustainability and reach.

The President concluded the visit by encouraging pupils to work hard and seize the opportunities made possible through education.

The engagement reaffirmed the government’s broader vision of inclusive development, where no child is left behind.
