ZNS Passes Out Record Intake as Government Strengthens National Security
The Zambia National Service has achieved a significant milestone, passing out its largest-ever intake of over 1,500 graduates from Intake 27 of 2024 at Kabwe Training School, marking a historic achievement in the institution's capacity building.
The unprecedented expansion follows President Hakainde Hichilema's directive to upgrade civilian employees who served the nation diligently, demonstrating the government's commitment to recognising dedicated service while simultaneously strengthening national security and development capabilities.
Minister of Defence, Honourable Ambrose Lufuma, praised ZNS for its exemplary response to natural disasters and the successful installation of acrow bridges across the country, highlighting the service's vital role in both security and infrastructure development.
ZNS Commander Lt Gen Eng Maliti Solochi II emphasised that this substantial intake significantly enhances operational efficiency and addresses critical human resource gaps, positioning the service to better serve Zambian citizens.
"The passing out of this record intake demonstrates our administration's commitment to building robust institutions," observed ministry officials, noting the rigorous training completed under Commandant Brig Gen Mwelwa's leadership at Kabwe Training School.
Principal Public Relations Officer Mr Paul Shalala confirmed the new soldiers have been instructed to maintain professionalism, avoid partisan politics, and prioritise loyalty to the Constitution, the President, and Zambia.
This achievement reflects the government's strategic investment in national security infrastructure and human capital development, ensuring ZNS remains equipped to respond effectively to both security challenges and development needs across the nation.
