Mandevu Youths Benefit from Skills Development Programme
Over 900 young people in Lusaka's Mandevu Constituency are set to benefit from skills training bursaries under the 2026 Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
The beneficiaries were carefully selected through a rigorous vetting process from more than 1,000 applications, according to Lusaka City Council Public Relations Manager Chola Mwamba.
The skills bursaries represent a significant investment in youth empowerment, providing opportunities for vocational training and professional development to young residents who might otherwise lack access to such programmes.
Ms Mwamba confirmed that similar selection processes are currently underway across Lusaka's other six constituencies, indicating a city-wide commitment to youth skills development.
The CDF skills initiative addresses unemployment challenges facing young Zambians by equipping them with practical, marketable skills that can enhance their employability and entrepreneurial prospects.
The competitive selection process, with over 1,000 applications for 900 places, demonstrates strong demand among Lusaka's youth population for skills training opportunities.
As Zambia continues prioritising human capital development, such constituency-level interventions provide direct pathways for young people to acquire technical competencies aligned with labour market demands, potentially transforming their economic prospects and contributing to broader national development objectives.
