CBU Student Found Dead In Trunk
A body which was stuffed into the trunk of a car and dumped on the Ndola-Kitwe dual carriageway has been identified as the remains 34-year-old Copperbelt University medical student Fred Kapuku.
Locals initially found the car, which contained Mr Kapuku’s torso, but his head and legs were missing. These remains were later discovered at another location in Ndola.
The student’s body was identified by his girlfriend, who said Kapuku was last seen on Saturday 16 August.
He was driving a black Toyota Mark X, registration BCG 744, which has not yet been recovered. He was also carrying an Infinex mobile phone.
Copperbelt Police Commissioner Pethias Siandenge said investigations were now being stepped up to find the student’s killer(s).
Copperbelt University Student Union President Lloyd Nsonga said the student body was “deeply saddened by the devastating news.”
“As students we are shocked and saddened by this tragic incident. We cry out for justice for Fred Kapuku,” he said in a statement.
