Children International Zambia Signs Partnership with Major Health Organisations

Children International Zambia (CIZ) signed a memorandum of understanding with the Churches Health Association of Zambia (CHAZ), and the Zambia Flying Doctor Service (ZFDS) on Wednesday during a ceremony in Lusaka.

The formal partnership is aimed as expanding access to medical products for children and young people across the country.

The agreement establishes a Product Donations Program designed to ensure donated medical supplies reach vulnerable communities more efficiently.

"Our prime objective is to ensure all children and youth have access to requisite health services when needed," said Anthony Matoka, CIZ Board Chairperson, speaking at the signing ceremony.

The partnership leverages each organisation's existing infrastructure and expertise. CHAZ will provide pharmaceutical support as part of the collaboration.

"At the heart of this agreement is the product donations program. Our objective is clear - to ensure that all eligible children and youth along with their families receive the maximum benefits from this program," said Michael Kachumi, CHAZ Acting CEO.

The Zambia Flying Doctor Service, known for delivering medical care to remote areas, will help extend the reach of the donated products to underserved communities.

CIZ has already begun distributing vital pharmaceutical products as part of the initiative, which organisers say represents a significant step forward in strengthening the healthcare system.
