Bank of Zambia Warns Public Against Fraudulent Investment Platform

The Bank of Zambia issued a public warning on Monday regarding fraudulent content circulating on social media about a fictitious investment platform endorsed by Dr Denny Kalyalya, the Bank's Governor. The scam promises unusually high returns and immediate withdrawals to lure unsuspecting victims.

Besnat Mwanza, the Bank of Zambia's Assistant Director of Communications, emphasised that the central bank neither operates, endorses, nor promotes any investment platform of this nature. She clarified that the fraudulent content includes videos and an online article altered to imitate the Governor’s likeness and voice.

"Members of the public are urged to remain vigilant, exercise caution, and verify information through official Bank of Zambia communication channels," Mr Mwanza said. "They are urged to refrain from sharing personal information, engaging with, or circulating misleading content."

The matter has been reported to the relevant authorities for further investigation.
