Clearing Agent of Nakonde District is Hospitalised After Domestic Dispute

A clearing agent in Muchinga Province is recovering in hospital following a violent domestic dispute with his wife.

Michael Mulenga, 20, from Ntindi village in Nakonde District, sustained serious injuries during an altercation with his wife, Rabbeca Mutale, on Wednesday night.

The incident occurred around 23:00 hours after Mr Mulenga returned home in an intoxicated state at approximately 22:00 hours, according to provincial police commander Dennis Moola.

"The couple got into a fight after the wife started shouting at him for returning home late in a drunken state," Mr Moola told reporters.

The confrontation escalated, resulting in Mr Mulenga suffering severe injuries that required hospital treatment.

Police are investigating the incident, which highlights ongoing concerns about domestic violence in the region.
