Woman in court for attempting to vote twice in Lusaka mayoral election

A 38-YEAR-OLD woman of John Laing in Lusaka yesterday appeared in the Magistrates’ Court on a charge of impersonation after she attempted to vote twice in the just ended mayoral elections.

Allegations are that Monica Mutale on July 26 this year, in Lusaka, voted in stream eight but allegedly attempted to vote for the second time in another stream.

She was, however, noticed by the Electoral Commission of Zambia officials who reported her to the police where she was formerly charged upon failing to give a satisfactory explanation.

Mutale’s case was allocated to magistrate Austin Mubita where she will take plea.
