HH Wraps Up North-Western Campaign Trail

President Hakainde Hichilema has concluded his campaign trail in North-Western Province with visits to Ikelenge, Mufumbwe and Kasempa, highlighting Government’s development plans in the region.

In Ikelenge, President Hichilema said Government would continue supporting local economic activities, including pineapple production and processing. He also announced plans for a public-private partnership to establish a honey processing plant to benefit producers in Ikelenge and Mwinilunga.

The President further committed to completing Ikelenge General Hospital into a district hospital, upgrading the Mwinilunga-Jimbe road under the Lobito Corridor, and supporting youth empowerment through skills training and employment opportunities.

In Mufumbwe, President Hichilema said local people would be prioritised in mining activities at Kikonge Gold Mine, with Government facilitating safe small-scale mining through licences and equipment. He also directed that Kalengwa Mine should prioritise local employment and business suppliers.

The President pledged to upgrade Mufumbwe District Hospital, construct a skills training centre for youths and improve the M8 Solwezi-Mutanda-Mufumbwe-Manyinga-Kabompo-Zambezi-Chavuma road.

At his final stop in Kasempa, President Hichilema thanked residents for their support and said Government would continue focusing on job creation, agriculture, infrastructure, education and health.

He urged voters to support the UPND, saying this would allow Government to continue delivering development programmes and protect peace.
