Ballot Papers Delivered to Livingstone Ahead of August 13 Election

Ballot papers for the 13 August general election have been delivered to Livingstone District, covering both the Livingstone Central and Maramba constituencies.

Livingstone District Electoral Officer Sombo Kawilila confirmed that the district has received four pallets of ballot papers, with two allocated to each constituency.

Speaking through Maramba Constituency Returning Officer Daniel Sikapili, Ms Kawilila said representatives of political parties and other key electoral stakeholders were present to witness the arrival of the ballot papers and their transfer into secure storage.

She explained that the ballot papers are being kept at the Livingstone Civic Centre, where they will remain under round-the-clock security provided by the Zambia Police Service until the next phase of the electoral process.

Ms Kawilila further said the ECZ will announce the date for the ballot verification exercise. During this process, political parties, election observers and other accredited stakeholders will be given an opportunity to inspect the ballot papers before they are distributed to polling stations across the district.
