World Leaders Congratulate HH on Re-election

World leaders have congratulated President Hakainde Hichilema on his re-election for a second term, with messages highlighting Zambia’s democratic process, development prospects and continued international partnerships.

Angolan President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço has congratulated President Hakainde Hichilema on his re-election for a second term.

President Lourenço said the elections reflected the democratic maturity of the Zambian people, highlighting the preservation of national interest, patriotism and respect for the sovereign decision of Zambians.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog has also congratulated President Hichilema, expressing confidence that Zambia will continue to achieve great success, peace and prosperity under his leadership.

Kenyan President William Ruto described President Hichilema’s decisive victory as a testament to his dedication, perseverance and commitment to advancing Zambia.

President Ruto said the election outcome reflected the trust and confidence Zambians have placed in President Hichilema to advance the country’s development and prosperity.

China’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian said Beijing is ready to further strengthen relations between the two countries.

The Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, has wished President Hichilema success as he begins his second term in office.

Burundian President and African Union Chairperson Évariste Ndayishimiye has also conveyed congratulations on behalf of the people and Government of Burundi, as well as the wider African Union family.

President Ndayishimiye wished President Hichilema continued success in leading Zambia towards greater peace, unity and prosperity.

The messages from African and international leaders underline expectations for continued stability, development and stronger diplomatic and economic partnerships during President Hichilema’s second term.
