SADC Commends Peace in Zambia Ahead of Elections
SADC Executive Secretary Elias Magosi has praised Zambia’s regional leadership as it prepares to take over as Chair of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and anchor the Summit Organ Troika during the transition.
His remarks came as SADC launched its Electoral Observation Mission (SEOM) to Zambia ahead of Thursday’s General Elections.
Magosi commended the region’s commitment to democratic governance, stressing the importance of elections in upholding SADC’s principles and guidelines.
He also expressed confidence in Zambia’s democratic process and wished citizens peaceful polls, reaffirming SADC’s solidarity in promoting peace, unity and long-term stability.
