HH Urge the Youth to Participate in the August Elections
President Hakainde Hichilema addressed students yesterday at Mulungushi University in Kapiri Mposhi District urging students across the nation to safeguard their future by voting for the UPND in this year’s general elections.
The President encouraged youths to take an active role in the electoral process and to consider the direction they want the country to take in upcoming years.
HH reminded young voters that they represent a significant portion of Zambia’s population, emphasising their influence over the outcome of elections.
He also urged the youth of Zambia to reflect on policies and leadership choices; he added that involvement in elections goes beyond casting votes. He said that participation in civic activities, policy discussions and community engagement also contribute to strengthening democratic systems.
The President said that Zambia’s progress depends on the choices made by citizens during elections and to approach the electoral process with responsibility and awareness of long-term implications of their choices.
