ZCCM-IH Investment Income Rises to K3.4 Billion

ZCCM Investments Holdings Plc (ZCCM-IH) has recorded a significant increase in investment income, rising by 40 percent to K3.4 billion for the financial year ended December 2025.

ZCCM-IH Chief Executive Officer Kakenenwa Muyangwa attributed the strong performance to increased royalty income from Kansanshi following the S3 expansion, as well as a significant rise in dividend income.

The company also received maiden dividends totalling US$39.2 million from Maamba Energy, contributing to the growth in its overall investment income.

According to Mr Muyangwa, the value of ZCCM-IH’s investment portfolio also increased substantially, rising from US$112 million to US$1.91 billion. The growth was largely driven by the performance and value of its investment in Copperbelt Energy Corporation.

Despite the increase in investment income and portfolio value, the company reported a loss of K1.94 billion, representing more than a 50 percent reduction in its loss compared with the previous period. At Group level, ZCCM-IH recorded a loss of K4.92 billion, compared with a profit reported in 2024.

The company has proposed a dividend of K1.13 per share for 2025, down from K3.29 per share paid in 2024.

Board Chairperson Phesto Musonda said the company’s 2025 performance demonstrated the direction in which ZCCM-IH was heading.

“2025 showed where this company is going,” Mr Musonda said, pointing to a stronger portfolio, growing investment income and renewed confidence among investors and partners.
