Zambia Pushes Trade Agenda at Korea Meeting

Zambia's Ambassador to South Korea, Andrew Banda, says the government is actively engaging Korean investors to capitalise on the favourable business environment now available in the country.

The 2026 Korea-Africa Foreign Ministers' Meeting, taking place in Seoul, is the second gathering of its kind, following the inaugural meeting held in 2024.

Zambia has used the platform to advance three key priorities: trade and industrialisation, digital transformation, and peace and multilateral reform. The delegation is led by Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet, Siazongo Siakalenge.

Ambassador Banda emphasised that Zambia is positioning itself as an attractive destination for foreign investment, pointing to reforms that have improved the ease of doing business across key sectors.

A central feature of the event is the Korea-Africa Business Forum, the commercial centrepiece of the gathering. The forum brings African governments and Korean industry leaders together to explore investment and trade opportunities, with a focus on partnerships that support sustainable economic growth.

The meeting builds on growing ties between Seoul and the continent, reflecting a shared commitment to deeper cooperation in commerce, technology, and diplomacy. Zambia's participation underscores its determination to strengthen bilateral relations and attract Korean capital.
