Zambia Trade Surplus up to K7 Billion in May
Zambia has recorded a K7 billion surplus in May 2026 up from K3.5 billion in April.
The Zambia Statistics Agency (ZamStats) stated the May surplus alone is equivalent to approximately 400 million U.S dollars.
Over the first five months of 2026, Zambia has accumulated a trade surplus of around 1.1 billion dollars in comparison to 146 million dollars for the entire year of 2025.
ZamStats revealed that annual inflation eased to 6.5%, the economy grew by 7.7% in the first quarter of 2026, up from 4.5% in the same period last year.
