Zambia’s Drive Towards Agricultural Self-Sufficiency

Zambia is advancing toward agricultural self-sufficiency driven by a major boost in local fertiliser production.

United Capital Fertilizer- UCF under the Wonderful Group of Companies said it will be increasing production to meet demand from local and regional markets.

The company added that broadening production is targeted towards strengthening supply and bolstering the agricultural sector as demand for fertiliser continues to grow.  

Albert Halwampa Zambia Development Agency Director General said the project demonstrates how strategic investments can strengthen economic growth and industrial development. They are expected to contribute to improved agricultural productivity and reduce reliance on fertiliser imports.
