Chifubu Level One Hospital Commissioned in Ndola

President Hakainde Hichilema officially commissioned the Chifubu Level One Hospital in Ndola on Sunday afternoon during a four-day visit to the region.

The President said that the commission is a step toward providing quality services in healthcare and other sectors in the community.

The Health Minister, Sylvia Masebo, said the hospital has been equipped with state-of-the-art technology and an additional 133 health care workers. She also said that 44 volunteers will be offered permanent jobs in the hospital.

The commission of the hospital comes a few days after the Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA) confirmed that it has reached the World Health Organisation (WHO) standard of 70% drug availability at its central warehouse.

Chifubu Member of Parliament Lloyd Lubozha thanked everyone involved in the development of the hospital and credited the increase in health facilities to the Constituency Development Fund.

Despite neglect in previous administrations, well-advised resource management has revived the institution, extending healthcare to more remote areas.

During his visit to the Copperbelt, the President also inaugurated the construction of the Buteko Market and commissioned the restructuring of the Chingola-Kasumbalesa road, among other projects in the region.

Copperbelt Minister Elisha Matambo said that plans for further development in multiple sectors in the province are underway.
